The projects of the wind farms are located in the northwestern and southwestern parts of the Uzbekistan’s energy system, and therefore the efforts to modernize the network in the northwestern and southwestern grid regions have a direct impact on determining the strategy of reliable network interconnection. The following investment projects of the national energy system are considered relevant to improving reliability in the north-western and south-western regions of the energy system. In this regard, preliminary work has been done on the WPP network integration. After the GIA study, optimal grid connection strategies were proposed to ensure a reliable and sustainable power evacuation scheme.

Site selection study was conducted for the following locations:

– Chortabay 200 MW;

– Bulungur 300 MW;

– Uchkuduk 300 MW;

– Gasly 200 MW;

– Kukcha 500 MW;

– Beshtau 500 MW.

Description of actual services provided in the assignment:

1. Preparation of the report on procedures for pre-connection to the power grid of Uzbekistan;
2. Calculation of Available and permissible power capacities with consideration of the most optimal power connection points for six potential site locations (Chontabay, Bulungur Uchkuduk, Gazli, Kokcha, Beshtal);
3. Preparation of the map with detailed data and location points by indicating wind conditions;
4. Generating power capacity diagrams with consideration of N-1 mode (220/500kv).
5. Analyze the prioritization of the wind developing areas with recommendation in the following aspects:

• Wind potential of the area;
• Connection requirements & Transmission investment requirements;
• Wind output variation;
