The main goal of the project is to technically equip regional multi-profile medical centers with modern medical equipment to overcome existing structural obstacles, modernize equipment and implement modern treatment methods to ensure more cost-effective medical care. The consultant will assist the Ministry of Health, regional multidisciplinary medical centers and regional health departments in performing tasks as efficiently as possible using the most modern capacity building methods, the ability to transfer know-how in the medical sector and modern project management systems, including sustainable provision quality and service systems.

Description of actual services provided in the assignment:

The implementation of the Phase I project began in August 2014. Five regional medical multi-profile centers (RMPC) of the project are located in Andijan, Bukhara, Navoi, Nukus and Termez.

Consulting services are provided within two interrelated parts of the project:

Part A –

An investment program that includes the supply and installation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), other medical equipment, telemedicine equipment, waste management equipment and additional equipment, as well as the development of agreements for maintenance and contract management.

Part B –

Accompanying measures, which include the identification and selection of an international partner for telemedicine and MRI, assistance in the reconstruction of regional multi-profile centers, the development of a concept for telemedicine, the development of a concept for hospital waste management, and the organization of regional conferences on telemedicine, MRI and medical waste management.
