Climate technology help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and/or building resilience to the impacts of climate change.

The FI offers preferential grants for the introduction of certain technologies in addition to EBRD financing. The Bank also organizes technical support with the involvement of international consultants. To assess climate technology transfer in each region, the Bank offers support to governments in participating countries. EBRD helps to improve policy provisions and legal framework, facilitating the adaptation of a wide range of climate technologies.

Description of actual services provided in the assignment:

Main objective was to conduct market assessment for technologies eligible for FINTECC Programme in Uzbekistan:

• Analyse local market for climate technologies and analyze main gaps through assessing key barriers 1 for sustainable technologies in Uzbekistan
• Propose and assess the climate technology areas which currently have low market penetration rate but high potential for implementation
• Identify high potential sustainable technologies and assess implementation potential for them in Uzbekistan.
• Identify potential private sector beneficiaries (expected to be mostly SMEs) for investment grants.
