The main objective of this study is to carry out Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) and Social due diligence report in 13 rural settlements of Bukhara region and 18 rural settlements of Surkhandarya region as per ADB Environmental Safeguard Policy assessment requirements for the project: National Road Development Project (Subproject 1 and 2):

Description of actual services provided in the assignment:

The scope of Services is as follows:

1. Environment Assessment of the previous project documentation review and interaction with AEPC for a good understanding of the assignment.
2. Prepare the Initial Environment Examination (IEE) study and Social due diligence report in accordance with ADB’s Safeguard policy Statement (SPS, 2009).
3. Provide an environmental and social baseline description of the Project;
4. Identify and describe the Project’s potential environmental and social impacts;
5. Design mitigation measures to minimize adverse impacts;
6. Describe the Project’s public consultation process and Grievance Redress Mechanism.

Provide Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans for the overall Project (including defining institutional responsibilities, capacity building and training, and the required budget).
