Section 1: 40 km in Kungrad District, Karakalpakstan. (km 876-916);
Section 2: 91 km in Tortkul District, Karakalpakstan and Khazarasp district, Khorezm province (km 490-581).
Description of actual services provided in the assignment:
- Review the geometry, pavement, bridge, and other structural designs, drawings specifications, construction method etc, prepared by the employer. Recommend to revise or update the design for achieving greater economy, safety, reliability, and/or durability.
- Supervision and project administration actions. (i) Supervise the contractors work and certify the constructions work in accordance with contract conditions. (ii) Develop quality assurance system and quality control plan, especially concentrating on provisions of asphalt/cement concrete pavement. (iii) Establish efficient procedures for verifying Contractor performance and reporting progress and problems in a timely manner, including quality control reports, quantity survey records, requests for variation or change orders, requests for time extension, and Contractor’s claims and invoices. (iv) Ensure project financial management procedures are in place and are strictly followed, specifically relating to payments, financial accounting, financial reporting and record keeping. (v) Check “as built” drawing prepared by the Contractors. (vi) Ensure that road safety design requirements are implemented in accordance with the contract documents and specifications.
- Contract Administration and Construction Supervision. Administer the civil works contract and supervise the day-to-day civil works on the site, and certify the works in accordance with FIDIC conditions of contract.
- Safeguard compliance monitoring. (i) Monitor Contractors’ conformity with environmental and social impact controls. (ii) If land acquisition and resettlement is necessary, prepare and supervise the implementation of the land acquisition and resettlement plan. (iii) Monitor Contractors’ conformity with traffic control and road safety action plan during construction. (iv) Carry out environmental mitigation activities.
Reporting. (i) Prepare reports, in a format and content acceptable to the employer and as per the guidelines in the Facility Administration Manual.
