The objective of the project “Modernization of HPS in Tashkent, Shahrikhan and Kadirya cascades” (HPS-9 in Tashkent cascade, HPS SFC-2 in Shakhrikhan cascade and HPS-3 in Kadirya cascade) is technical re-equipment of hydropower plants with the replacement of worn-out equipments with exhausted service life, ensuring continued reliable and efficient operation of the plant in the Uzbekistan energy system with a guaranteed supply of water to consumers water management, extending the life of process equipment with the achievement of regulatory overhaul period of its work, increasing the capacity of stations, increasing annual generation of electricity by making optimal use of water runoff and increase the efficiency of the modernized hydraulic units.  Modernization of Tashkent HPS envisages increased capacity to 16,3 MW and annual generation of 95.03 million kW/h electricity. After completion of the modernization, the capacity of Shakhrikhan HPS will be increased to 7.05 MW with average annual electricity output 55.117 million kWh. Modernization of “Kadirya HPS cascade” (HPS-3) shall include increased installed capacity of 15.34 MW and average annual output of 123.9 million kW/h.

Description of actual services provided in the assignment:

Consulting services for the First stage included assistance in the project implementation, carrying out of ICB(s) and contract procedures at the pre-construction stage, and supervision over construction at the construction stage:

1. Review and approve the detailed design of the project.
2. Using the presented technical part of the tender documentation, prepare full package of documentation in accordance with IDB standards and procedures.

Assist in the procedural matters of evaluation of bidders’ proposals; prepare evaluation reports for the Tender Commission, assisting the Client in contract negotiations and award to the ECP Contractor(s).
