The main goal of the project is to technically equip regional multi-profile medical.

The consultant will assist the Ministry of Health, regional multidisciplinary medical centers and regional health departments in performing tasks as efficiently as possible using the most modern capacity building methods, the ability to transfer know-how in the medical sector and modern project management systems, including sustainable provision quality and service systems.

Description of actual services provided in the assignment:

Phase II is viewed as a continuation of Phase I in three more regions of Uzbekistan. The implementation of the Phase II project began in July 2016.

Four medical centers are located in Namangan, Kashkadarya, Samarkand regions and the city of Tashkent. Consulting services are planned to be provided in two separate, but interrelated parts:

Part A

An investment Program comprises the procurement and installation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRIs), other medical equipment, telemedicine equipment, waste management equipment and additional equipment, as well as the elaboration of maintenance agreements and contract management; while

Part B

Accompanying Measures involves the identification and selection of an international Twinning Partner for telemedicine and MRIs, assistance with the rehabilitation of the regional multi-profile centres, elaboration of a concept for telemedicine, the development of a hospital waste management concept, as well as the organization of regional conferences on telemedicine, MRI and hospital waste management.
